I write short stories, articles, and blog posts, and I’m editing my contemporary novel about a woman who gives up what she’s always wanted and could rightfully have called Year of the Locust.
I have a BA in English with a Creative Writing Emphasis and a Publishing minor and have taken graduate courses in Literature.
I attend writers’ conferences, webinars, and read writing craft books (there’s always a new way to look at plot or character) and am a member of Oregon Christian Writers, American Christian Fiction Writers, and Idaho Writers League. I lead a local writers’ group.
I have short stories published in Live, IDAHO Magazine, and Talking River Review. “Tails” appeared in an anthology, Otherworlds.
Some of my favorite fiction writers are Flannery O’Connor, Marilynne Robinson, Anne Tyler, Fredrik Backman, and Barbara Kingsolver. Some of my favorite nonfiction writers are Madeleine L’Engle, Frederick Buechner, and Ann Voscamp.
